I am very happy to now confirm that I have landed the location for my film and all paperwork and billing is in motion! The cafe I have found was only discovered last night on Google Maps and is just as (if not better) than my initial option. That is a huge weight off of my shoulders!
The 2nd big announcement is MAMMOTH! I contacted an actress last night with regards to the leading female role in my film. Her experience is very much beyond a student film as she holds down various different roles on Television - she is also in the film Control. After pleading with her to read my script before making a decision, she finally contacted me back and was very interested in the role. Even better was her suggestion of casting her real life husband in the film as her characters husband and after taking a look at his showreel, I agreed. This kind of chemistry can only benefit my film and I’ve never been more excited to shoot something in my life! My planned shoot date is the 6th November which gives me plenty of time to cater for any problems that there may be in post.
I now only have to cast a young local actress for a small role and I will be set, pending our crew delegations.
inspiretheempire asked: y'alright dude. Hopefully getting into Staffordshire next year to study Film prod-technology. Just wanted to ask about your experience at staffordshire and all that, any tips? Would be great :) In&Out is smart, nice shots :) Cheers bud x
Hey man, Staffordshire is a fantastic University for Film production. It’s much more hands on than most places and the Media Centre is one of the best in the country. You should apply. Thankyou for your comment :) All the best!
I will be announcing a huge development in my production at 6pm tonight. It is s huge step forward and I’m very, very excited about it. Sit tight for the announcement..
I am spending tomorrow scouting for locations for my latest film: Dream A Little Dream. It is a short drama that is set in a cafe. As always, I have my film envisioned as to how I would like it to look, and as we all know, this rarely ever turns out to be the case! There is one place in-particular which I am very hopeful of tying down, but again as we all know, people don’t tend to give up their Sunday to help you out - I need to remember that I’m making a movie, not living in one! I’m not feeling too worried at the moment about this, but I’m sure if things go the way I don’t want them to, then I’ll be on high alert.
Also, I’m sorry that I haven’t posted too many updates of late, the good news is now that I have a new project, I will be very regular with updates, documenting the making of the film. I hope you are all well.
